The academic hoods for degrees has been condense as of 2009 to only sixteen colours as outlined below.

	Architecture, Building and Planning Colour: Magenta
	Arts (all degrees except Social Work) Colour: Stewart blue
	Social Work Colour: Chartreuse green
	Economics and Commerce Colour: Sky blue
	Education (all degrees) Colour: Malachite green
	Engineering (all degrees) Colour: Gold
	Land and Food Resources (all degrees) Colour: Old gold
	Law Colour: White
	Law undergraduate students Colour: White with a black band
	MBA Colour: Sky blue lined with a gold band
	Medicine* Colour: Cardinal
	Dentistry Colour: Mink
	Health Sciences Colour: Petunia
	Music Colour: Lilac
